The Partners in Caring: Medicine in Kenya (PiC:MiK) program through the biology department at Western Kentucky University is unique in the opportunity it gives undergraduate students to immerse themselves in both a study abroad and medical training experience. Program participants and leaders describe their experiences working in clinics in rural Kenya and the importance of the partnership between WKU and the villages in Kasigau.
